Saturday, September 26, 2026 (11:00 AM - 12:30 PM) (EDT)

Description

The marsh is changing—and fall is the perfect time to explore it! Join marine biologist Chris Lener for a hands-on 90-minute adventure into the coastal salt marsh. We’ll go beyond crabbing to discover the fascinating creatures, habitats, and connections that make the marsh such an important coastal ecosystem. We’ll explore the marsh edge, search for hidden creatures, investigate what we find, and spend time crabbing along the way. You’ll learn how to identify our discoveries, what they eat, where they fit into the food web, and how coastal animals adapt as the seasons change. This is hands-on coastal science with a little mud, a lot of exploring, and plenty of surprises! 🌿 Explore the fall salt marsh 🦀 Catch and observe crabs 🐚 Search for other marsh creatures 🔬 Learn about coastal ecosystems 👣 Get hands-on with real marine science Come ready to get your hands dirty and see the marsh in a whole new way!
